Retail Banks in Austria

11 November 2019

Banks in Austria generate their profit largely from traditional interest income attributed to retail banking business operations making retail banking an important part of Austrian banking landscape. Apart from two cooperative banking groups, Raiffeisen Banking Group and Volksbank Group, represented by a large number of local credit cooperatives and regional banks, and local savings banks belonging to Erste Bank Group, retail banking products and services are offered by a large number of other banks. Some of these banks offer their products via the Internet, while there are also several pure direct banks.

List of Retail Banks

In the list of retail banks below, the rank indicates the place of a bank in term of total assets among all banks operating in Austria. It should be noted that branches of foreign banks in Austria do not report their annual accounts, so their total assets and ranks are not available.
