American International (AIG) is an American insurance corporation offering a full range of insurance products globally. During the financial crisis of 2008 AIG was balied out by the federal government. Banque AIG (France) was a subsidiary of AIG Financial Products providing corporate finance, investment and financial risk management products to a variety of customers. In 2008 AIG Financial Products' trading in credit derivatives led to enormous losses.
