On April 21, 2015 during the annual general meeting of Sparbanken Syd a decision was made to incorporate Frenninge Savings Bank into Sparbanken Syd. Frenninge Savings Bank, Sweden's smallest savings bank worked closely with its customers, but because of its size, the bank found it difficult to adjust to tightened banking regulations, functions and technical requirements of a modern bank. The legal merger was completed in November 2015.
Frenninge Sparbank participates in the deposit guarantee scheme of Sweden. This deposit guarantee scheme applies to deposits in all types of accounts made by private individuals, legal entities and covers up to up to 950,000 SEK per bank per depositor. Frenninge Sparbank is a member of Swedish National Debt Office (SNDO) and makes its contributions into it.
Frenninge Sparbank was located in Vollsjö.
Frenninge Sparbank was authorized and supervised by the Financial Supervisory Authority.
