Mobilepay Denmark is neither registered with the Danish Financial Services Authority (DFSA) as a virtual asset services provider, nor offers any crypto assets services.
Since November 2020, providers of virtual custodian wallets as well as providers of exchange between virtual currencies and fiat currencies are to register with the DFSA for money laundering reporting purposes.
Mobilepay Denmark A/S is not registered with the DFSA as a virtual asset services provider.

Mobilepay Denmark A/S is authorized by the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority as a e-money institution (reference number 40505) for issuance of electronic money, distribution and redemption of electronic money, execution of payment transactions on a payment account (not covered by a credit line), execution of payment transactions on a payment account (using a credit line), issuing payment instruments or acquiring payment transactions, money remittance; the authorization was granted on 1 September 2017 and revoked on 2 May 2023.
Mobilepay Denmark A/S is not a bank, it can't collect deposits from public or loan out its clients’ money. Hence, it does not have to participate in deposit guarantee schemes. However, Mobilepay Denmark is required to safeguard its customers’ money.
Due to EEA passport rules Mobilepay Denmark A/S, can conduct its activities in any of the 30 EEA member states.
